The Filecoin Mainnet will be performing a Network Upgrade to v18, codenamed Hygge, at epoch 2683348 around 2023-03-14 03:14 PM UTC (The Filecoin Mainnet Ethereum chain id is 314 >3 ). This upgrade brings user programmability to Filecoin!
As a first milestone for enabling user programmability, we are launching FEVM - an EVM runtime on top of the FVM(that’s launched via nv16 Skyr upgrade), and we aim to provide full compatibility with the existing EVM ecosystem and its tooling out of the box. While core devs are NOT expecting any network disruptions with this upgrade itself, it's still a big innovation to the network, thus we'd like to proactively schedule a longer than usual maintenance window. We'd kindly ask the Filecoin community to join us monitoring the network health and activities post-upgrade, let the implementers know if you notices anything worth attention and stay reactive and responsive to any potential action that's need to be taken!
